NETWORK WEAVERS

Network weavers are the matchmakers of the network, and also work to help people in the network better understand the benefits of a network approach (Holley, 2011). They are always looking out for opportunities to forge mutually beneficial relationships between people. This work often involves brokering introductions between participants, looping relevant parties into conversations on the network, and keeping in constant contact with stakeholders who leverage the network for feedback and ideas. To do this, they have to stay aware of people in the network and their interests. This work is important because it helps to build trust in the network and reinforce the vision and shared language.

Core competencies of Network Weavers

• Comfort with being well-known by people in the network.
• Ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders, people in the network and others, and the willingness to be available to communicate with people.
• The capacity to represent a brand or work that is immersive among the people working on a cause.
• Experience in mediating conflict.
